Good  things come in small packages. Such is the Showcase Miniatures Nn3 Class B Climax kit. The kit is packaged in a clear plastic case with a nice picture of the completed locomotive. The plastic box can be used to store the completed locomotive.
The components are neatly packaged  in a sealed plastic bag and include all of the parts for the main structure of the model. An etch sheet of brass parts is also included in the kit. Front wheels and a frame are provided, even the screw and washers are provided to the modeler.
The white metal parts and brass sheet details have been precisely manufactured and require little or no clean-up.
I particularly liked the instruction sheet; each step is shown in a pictorial exploded assembly drawing, and where important a description is provided for the modeler.
I constructed the model in three sub-assemblies: a main frame, the cab, and the boiler each with their details.
After the units were primed I painted them with Testors flat black paint. Final assembly was completed and the Nn3 Motor Unit ( a separate kit) was installed.
The neat little locomotive runs smooth at slow and fast speeds.
The Nn3 Climax kit was enjoyable to build and provides a nice running logging locomotive. 

Unique model, perfect construction and great design.

This was a joy to build for several reasons including well fitting parts, good instructions, potential for modeling variations and the finished model appears to be  highly detailed for such a small scale. 
It was very easy to model a backdated open cab version which gives it a totally different look. 
I’ve built several Showcase Miniatures kits and I’ve always enjoyed them all but this one is my favorite. 
As usual, the ordering process is as simple as it gets and the shipping was fast.
