I have invested a ton of time and effort into building a prototypical signaling system. Several products from Showcase Miniatures are part of that effort. When I started building the signals, the short-case GRS signal cabinets were lacking from my models, as well as angle-iron steel signal bases, and I reached out to Debbie and the Showcase team to inquire about the possibility of them being made available. Fast forward several weeks, and this product announcement hit the streets! I was very pleased to see the item available, and was not disappointed when it arrived. The cabinet proper is a resin part, and features excellent detail. With the proper magnification, the stylized GRS lettering is legible! In N scale, that is no small feat to accomplish! The angle iron steel frame is a laser-etched stainless steel part, which must be cut and folded to assemble. Nothing too difficult. The rest of the detail assembly went quickly. I added the cast white metal parts that were the mast and weather covers from the N GRS Style Relay Cabinets SKU: 508 which I had extra, and installed them atop the cabinet to match my prototype. A bit of paint and it's done and ready to install. All in all, another great detail from the Showcase team!
