Living in B&O country, I saw lots of signals on "Bracket Post" stands, usually at the ends of sidings. I had built a few from scratch over the years with decent results. I am the signal engineer for our model railroad historical society, and we are building a layout with a double track main that features six interlocking plants, and three sets of intermediates. The project was going to require us (me) to scratch build about 16 of these towers, but Showcase Miniatures saved the day! These models are well thought out and sturdy. The etched platform with railing and ladder is especially nice. The 3D printed base and one-piece platform support looks just like the real thing. Assembly was simple. Yes, it takes a bit of patience, but everything goes together well, and surprisingly fast. If you are lighting your signals, I would recommend installing the signals on the platform and running the wire into the main "pipe" before cementing the platform to the support. I also added two inches of 5/32 x .014 brass tube below the base on our test model as most of our roadbed is 3/4-inch plywood with 1/2-inch Homasote. This is a marvelous kit that fills a void, and at only $16.50 a copy it is not a bank-breaking matter to buy enough to get the job done.
